Latex layer shifting - myth or scare tactic?

After having the first hand experience with the SavvyRest Serenity 3-layer+topper 100% latex mattress, I’ve been able to hone my online mattress research further.

However, after inquiring with a rep from Dreamfoam Bedding about why they feel they’re better than their competition, one of the points the rep threw out there was that the 3 layer mattresses apparently have a lot of complaints online about the layers shifting. He blamed loose fitting covers as part of the culprit. They use a 2-layer system.

Maybe I’ve not looked in the right places, but I haven’t found any overt complaints about shifting layers from any of the suppliers recommended by this site. Am I missing something or was the rep just trying to spook me?
