Latex mattress compresion

I have a new latex mattress that has given me terrible trouble with compression to the point that my bed is painful. This has happened with the original bed that I had for 5 years and twice in rapid succession (months) recently. Can you tell me why this happens? Could there be a chemical reaction with some bodies?
Thanks.

Hi fsrdaw,

I noticed that you registered with your email as your username which means that automated spambots will be able to harvest your email and add you to their spam lists. If you’d like I can remove the @ and the domain after it and change your username to just fsrdaw (or any username you wish).

I would need to know the specifics of the layers and components in the latex mattress you purchased (see this article) to see if I can identify any lower quality materials or weak links in the mattress that could be the reason for any visible impressions.

It’s also possible that the support system under your mattress may be sagging or may not be providing suitable support under your mattress (you can check this by putting the mattress on the floor to see if it makes any difference).

If you could provide more specifics about your mattress and the support system you are using underneath it (and perhaps post a picture with a straight edge such as a yardstick or broom handle over the dip that shows any sagging as well) I’d certainly be happy to try and help.

PS: the picture would need to be inside the file size limit here and if you have any problem attaching it or if you aren’t sure how to reduce it then you can also send it to me at the contact address at the top right of the page and I can reduce it and attach it to your post for you.

Yes, please! User name is fsrdaw!
Thanks,
