Latex topper firmness question

240 lbs or so, mostly side sleeper. Generally like a firmer supportive feel and don’t want to feel like I am sinking through as I have with memory foam. Would firm Talalay be TOO firm in this application?

Im 5’11" and 220lbs, medium dunlop (29ild) was too firm for me. The best place to have your firmness is coming from the base up, because at your weight if your base is too soft and you put a firm topper on it, you will still sink too far in.

If your bed is already strong and supportive, then you can use a firm topper but be ready and absolutely sure you’re okay with firm firm because that’s how it’s going to feel. Latex feels firmer than other foams at the same firmness ratings because of how supportive it is. It holds its structure more strongly. That’s why if i liked “pretty firm” id still get a medium talalay, because its the mattress itself that needs to be the structure for the topper and the top layer is for pressure and stress relief.

Hey botn.

I agree with Gc123 here that a medium talalay is probably going to be a good option for you, assuming the rest of your setup is appropriately firm.

Depends also on thickness. A 2" medium will be probably firmer than a 3" as there’s more material. What topper are you looking at specifically? What bed are you putting it on?
