local dealer location

Very helpful site Phoenix and everyone who participates. I’m looking for a new King mattress and foundation, have read all the tutorials and am ready to get started. First hurdle is finding a dealer. I’m in Southern West Virginia and and all we have are the big chain stores. From the tutorial I’ve determined that Latex would probably work best for me. I can travel 100 miles or so, no big deal and Charleston WV or Huntington WV might be options. I did find one dealer listed in Charleston but he’s selling the much higher end of Latex, $3k and up. So, my zip code is 25801 if anyone can suggest a dealer and I’ll go ahead and state what I’m looking for. I’m OK with buying mail order but it would be nice to test one first.
So, I’m 250 lbs, 5.11 big boned but have a BIG stomach muscle. I sleep on my side and my biggest issue is keeping my spine straight. I tend to wake up with a back ache in the mornings. So I’m looking at a firm support with a softer top layer that kind of fills in the gaps with support I think.
3 mattresses that I’m interested in are the King Adjustable Ultra Plush Latex from mattresses.net
The SleepEZ.com natural 7000 mattress
and one that I think I just found with google, not from this site. It is an Eco Saver Latex Mattress The Kensington 13 inch 5 layer Latex Mattress here: http://www.eco-mattress-store.com/eco-saver-latex-mattress-the-kensington-13-inch-5-layer-latex-mattress/
But it has some layers in called Reflexa foam and Convoluted Engineered Latex foam that I’m not too sure about.

So if anyone wants to chime in on any of this I’m open to advice and suggestions.

Thanks

Hi joejett,

The better options I’m aware of that are closest to the Beckley, WV area are listed in post #2 here.

This mattress is the Natural Flex 935 made by Boyd and only includes 1" of latex. Reflexa and “engineered latex” are both names they use for polyfoam and I would want to know the density of all the polyfoam layers before I considered this mattress. A forum search on “boyd 935 engineered” (you can just click this) will bring up more information about it but I would be very cautious about this mattress and would only consider it if you are able to find out the density of all the polyfoam layers. Their use of the term “engineered latex” is quite misleading IMO.

SleepEz and Arizona Premium are both members of this site which means that they compete well with the best in the industry and would make very good quality/value choices.

Thanks for the quick response Phoenix!
