Looking for a bedframe for latex mattress

Hi folks-

I have identified the latex mattress that I want, but I can’t place the order until I first find a quality queen-sized bedframe to put it on. And despite lots of research looking for bedframes, I’m still stuck.

I understand that latex mattresses require a slatted support with slats spacing less than 3 inches, so that’s one requirement I have. In addtion, I prefer a bedframe that looks decent (nothing fancy, but also not a college students’ bed), ideally has low/no VOCs (GreenGuard Gold preferred), and isn’t too difficult to assemble.

I’d appreciate hearing folks’ suggestions, experiences, what bedframe you use for your latex mattress, etc.

Thank you!

Hi Gcuthbert.

Often times, the manufacturer will also sell compatible bases on their site or in store.

If there aren’t any you like, you may find this base by DLX to your liking or the My Green Mattress platform bed frame.

I do hope others will chime in with what’s working for them, of course!

Hi GCuthbert

Congratulations on your soon-to-be new latex mattress! Quite understandable you want to hold off on ordering until you have a compatable foundation! I wanted to give you a few additional
Suggestions along with @NikkiTMU ‘s.

You are entirely correct in your assessment - also you should consult with the manufacturer of the mattress to see what frames they recommend, so you don’t inadvertently void any return/exchange policies or warranties.

Many of the Trusted Members of the site carry frames which fit your criteria; @Latex_Mattress_Fact1 Latex Mattress Factory has a natural wood slatted mattress foundation here, and @Arizona_Premium has a Queen wood foundation here both for a little over $200, while @FloBeds offers a raised slatted wood frame here that’s a bit more due to additional features, for example; and U.S. Box Spring offers natural wood frames also. It really depends on whether you plan to set the foundation directly on the floor, or want it raised, and of course taking into account the weight of the latex mattress. These have all been with the site for many years and provide excellent quality, transparency in construction and materials, and great customer rapport. Hopefully other forum members can chime in with their own experiences as well to help you make a choice. Whichever you go with, I wish you many years of comfortable sleep on your new latex mattress!
