Looking for a cotton-and-wool cover/encasement for latex mattress in Canada

I have an Ikea natural latex mattress that originally had a zip-on cotton and wool cover (not a topper and not a mattress protector - a thick fabric envelope with wool batten.
I thought it would be a good idea to launder it and that was not a good idea - it shrunk to about half size! Lesson learned - you don’t launder wool batten.
So now I’m looking for a replacement high-quality cotton and wool encasement.

I found this one

But they don’t ship to Canada.
These guys are Canadian:

But it’s $700 which is 500 USD which seems like a lot. I think I only paid $1000 for this mattress in the first place.
So I put it out there - any suggestions on a good, thick, cotton and wool mattress cover in Canada for hopefully not too much more than $200 or maybe $300?

Hi agraham,
Welcome to the community and joining as a new MUGster.

So sorry to hear about your mattress cover. Mistakes sometimes happen. Recently had another blogger have a relative do her a big favor and placed her wool mattress duvet in the washing machine and it became felted.

Unless wool is specially treated, keep it out the washing machine.

Have you checked with @Arizona_Premium, I believe they used to ship to Canada and have nice quality mattress covers using wool combinations.

I would also call @MFC and inquire as to what other options they might have in addition to what they show on their website.

Sorry, I am not as familiar with the Canadian market, but this is how I would initiate this approach.

Good Luck with finding your cover!

Maverick

Unfortunately we no longer offer shipping into Canada however we can ship to a border town.

If you can’t find a U.S. seller to ship to Canada, you could consider using a freight forwarding company like Shippsy. Clearly that will add a layer of cost, but if the U.S. based encasement is cheap enough, perhaps the forwarded cost would be doable?

Went ahead and ordered from Arizona Premium to a package forwarding place across the border from me.
@Arizona_Premium your website warns that UPS doesn’t deliver to mailboxes but in my experience I’ve never had a problem delivering to this place so I went ahead and ordered.
I can understand why you don’t use UPS to Canada: they have outrageous brokerage fees on high-value items that have to be paid by the customer on delivery and come as a surprise and lead to unhappy customers.
If you add Fedex as a shipping mode I believe they have a shipping option that is expensive but includes the brokerage up front - that way at least the option is there for those who are willing to pay and not as a nasty surprise.
