looking for a latex hybrid bed

hello, ive been doing some research and ive discovered that latex hybrid bed with coils is the best option. my budget is around the $1500 area. I’m looking into the avocado mattress and the nest hybrid latex. I found these two beds because they offer financing through affirm and I cannot afford paying upfront with other companies. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. thank you very much.

Hi saimantri,

Welcome to the Mattress Forum!

I’m guessing what you meant is that after all of your research you found that the latex hybrid is the best option for you. The Avocado Green Mattress uses 2" of 75 kg/m3 (plush) Dunlop and 1" of 95 kg/M3 (firm) Dunlop. The pillowtop version adds 2" of 85 kg/M3 (medium) Dunlop. It is 100% NR latex. It uses a pocketed innerspring unit. The Nest Bedding Alexander Signature Hybrid is a different hybrid, using polyfoam and memory foam on top of a pocketed spring unit, and varies with either a Medium or Luxury Firm configuration. Nest Bedding is a site member here, which means that I think highly of them, and the Avocado mattress uses good quality materials.

[EDIT: I forgot and left out the Nest Bedding Hybrid Latex when I originally replied to this post, which does use latex on top of a pocketed spring unit]

If you’re looking for other hybrid options pocketed springs using latex on top), while certainly not complete, you may wish to look at the companies listed in the hybrid thread in post #2 here.

I’m sorry, but I don’t keep track of which mattress manufacturers or retailers offer financing, so I can’t be of much help there. While the ability to finance may be an important part of your personal value equation, I don’t generally recommend using that as guidance to select a mattress, and instead would recommend following the steps outlined in the mattress shopping tutorial.

Thank you for your help, I was wondering besides latex hybrid, for that budget what mattresses would you recommend? I sleep in all three positions and I want support and proper spinal alignment from the bed. If you can guide me in the right direction i’d appreciate it. thank you!

Hi saimantri,

While I can certainly help with “how” to choose, the focus of this site is to not make specific suggestions or recommendations for either a mattress, manufacturers/retailers, or combinations of materials or components, because the first “rule” of mattress shopping is to always remember that you are the only one that can feel what you feel on a mattress and there are too many unknowns, variables, and personal preferences involved that are unique to each person to use a formula or for anyone to be able to predict or make a specific suggestion or recommendation about which mattress or combination of materials and components or which type of mattress would be the best “match” for you in terms of “comfort”, firmness, price, or PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and your own Personal preferences) or how a mattress will “feel” to you or compare to another mattress based on specs (either yours or a mattress), sleeping positions, health conditions, or “theory at a distance” that can possibly be more reliable than your own careful testing (hopefully using the testing guidelines in step 4 of the tutorial) or your own personal sleeping experience (see mattress firmness/comfort levels in post #2 here).

I’m not sure what you’ve read since you found the site but just in case you haven’t read it yet … the best first place to start your research is the mattress shopping tutorial here which includes all the basic information, steps, and guidelines that can help you make the best possible choice … and perhaps more importantly know how and why to avoid the worst ones.

Two of the most important links in the tutorial that I would especially make sure you’ve read are post #2 here which has more about the different ways to choose a suitable mattress (either locally or online) that is the best “match” for you in terms of “comfort”, firmness, and PPP that can help you assess and minimize the risks of making a choice that doesn’t turn out as well as you hoped for, and post #13 here which has more about the most important parts of the “value” of a mattress purchase which can help you make more meaningful quality/value comparisons between mattresses in terms of suitability (how well you will sleep), durability (how long you will sleep well), and the overall value of a mattress compared to your other finalists based on all the parts of your personal value equation that are most important to you (including the price of course and the options you have available after a purchase if your choice doesn’t turn out as well as you hoped for).

Outside of PPP (which is the most important part of “value”), the next most important part of the value of a mattress purchase is durability which is all about how long you will sleep well on a mattress. This is the part of your research that you can’t see or “feel” and assessing the durability and useful life of a mattress depends on knowing the specifics of its construction and the type and quality of the materials inside it regardless of the name of the manufacturer on the label or how a mattress feels in a showroom or when it is relatively new so I would always make sure that you find out the information listed here so you can compare the quality of the materials and components to the durability guidelines here to make sure there are no lower quality materials or weak links in a mattress that would be a cause for concern relative to the durability and useful life of a mattress before making any purchase.

I recommend to read through the mattress shopping tutorial as a good reference book, and you can investigate further on the links provided therein if something is interesting, or focus toward the end of the tutorial with the simplified steps for choosing a mattress.

If you’re considering something local, feel free to respond back with your zip code and I can see if I am aware of any better options in your area. If you’re looking online, a good place to start is by using the expertise of the members listed in post #21 here who are all very experienced and knowledgeable and specialize in providing the type of help and guidance on the phone that can help you make good choices. There are a wide range of latex and memory foam and other options included in the choices there and I believe that all of them compete well with the best in the industry in terms of their quality, value, service, and transparency. You may also reply back with specific questions about a particular item in which you have an interest after you’ve read through the tutorial and I’ll do my best to be assistive there as well.

Hi ChicagoNest,

Welcome to the Mattress Forum!

Thank you for pointing that out! I was so intent in my original reply at pointing out the difference between the two hybrid offerings that I completely forgot to mention the latex hybrid. I have corrected my original post.

You are amazing! Thank you, I’m not sure why I never thought to check in here. I refer people, from all over the country, to your site. However, this was my first time looking thru the forum. (I’ usually here for the blog :)) This is actually a super informative tool. Kicking myself for not looking in sooner, lol.

Hi ChicagoNest,

Thanks for sending people our way - I appreciate it!

As you’re of course aware, as Nest Bedding is a member here of the site, you are always welcome to post educational information that may help educate others and answer questions.
