Dear folks,
Just joined this forum. I can see that there are a series of quality rec companies and would be fine going with one of them. Was wondering, however, if there is an opportunity to buy locally. Primarily looking for a less expensive alternative to the 4k that a cloud supreme breeze tempurpedic would cost, after all costs.
Thanks
Stevek
If you are willing to go to Maine, then these guys make what appears to be quality memory foam products:

Hi Stevenk,
Some of the better local options and manufacturers in the Boston area are listed in post #2 here and there are some links to feedback about many of them in post #2 here.

Dear fiddler, Phoenix
Thanks for the info. I am, frankly, overwhelmed by all of this. All the websites seem fine, warranties, returns. I did like the myluxurymattress simple explanation of layers and resistances, etc. Logistically , mymattressmaker is most convenient for me to visit in person, in brockton, ma, but their website is basically nonfunctional. I will give them a call. They didn’t seem to feature memory foam in their one readable page, but I’ll give them a call. Thanks in advance . My wife won’t even listen to me, so I’ll have to bug you folks further, I guess. I just want a semi firm, plush like memory foam queen for my achy back and hip, but don’t see the need to pay tempurpedic 4k for the privilege.
Hi Stevenk,
If you follow the steps in the post I linked (including reading the information it links to before you even start looking for or researching mattresses) and just stay focused on each step one by one you will do fine
