We have a regular purple mattress that’s about 5 years old. I had a purple before this, and generally enjoy the comfort of it. That said, I’m finding this one indents with my shape pretty quickly. We also likely need a new frame (we don’t use a box so the short dogs can get up if they want).
I am usually a side/stomach sleeper, but trying to train myself to be a back sleeper due to some L4/L5 issues (welcome to 40’s?) that usually manifest as glute pain/tightness. I’m about 250 and 6’1ish. I should be about 210-215 for my frame, and working on that. My wife is a back sleeper, and about 5’9 and in her 160s (I think).
We prefer things on the firmer side, and we both sleep a little warm, though it’s probably not the most important factor.
I’d love some recommendations. I have checked out Brooklyn so far, and would also love if others to look into, as well as any recommendations on short bedframes. We like to adopt senior dogs and we have some shorties and don’t want them jumping from too high a spot :).
Budget is flexible. We’re willing to spend what we need to get the right setup.
