Looking for info on Vivon Bliss

Has anyone have information on Vivon Bliss positional beds? I cannot find anything on this bed. Thanks!

Hi Lbushby,

Just in case you haven’t read it yet … the first place I would start your research is the mattress shopping tutorial which has all the basic information, steps, and guidelines you will need to make the best possible choices and know how to make meaningful comparisons with other mattresses.

Vivon is a Zinus brand which is a CertiPur certified Chinese manufacturer that manufactures a range of different brands that usually include “green tea” in their memory foam and often use some lower quality/density materials in their mattresses. The Vivon mattresses with massage are a partnership with Brookstone. While I don’t have personal experience with this mattress, I can make some general comments.

Outside of careful and objective testing to make sure a mattress is a good match for you in terms of PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) … a mattress is only as good as its construction and the quality of the materials inside it so I would always make sure you know the quality of all the materials inside any mattress you are considering (see this article).

If you go here … you can see that they list the individual layers and the Bliss uses 1" of fiber and 1" of 3 lb memory foam in the quilting which is “not bad” but is also a little more than I would be comfortable with (see the density/quality guidelines here). Once there are 2" or more lower quality materials in the upper layers of a mattress that are subject to premature softening, compression, or breakdown, they have a higher chance of becoming a weak link in the mattress.

The next 2.5" is 5 lb memory foam which is a good quality material.

Under this there is another 3" of “super soft polyfoam” and I would make sure you know the quality/density of this layer. If this 3" polyfoam layer is less than about 1.8 lb density then along with the lower quality of the top 2" you would have about 5" of lower quality materials in the mattress and which means there would clearly be a weak link in the mattress in terms of durability.

Under this there is a 6" polyfoam support core which is unlikely to be a factor in the durability or useful life of the mattress but I would want to know the density of this layer as well.

In addition to this … I would be very cautious with a mattress that used an adjustable base that was integrated into the mattress because if one or the other needs replacing then you may need to replace both. It may be worth considering a separate adjustable base and a similar or higher quality mattress in the same or a lower budget range.

A forum search on Vivon (you can just click this) will bring up more feedback and information about them as well.
