Looking for new Mattress Similar to one purchased in 2013

HI all!

Back in 2013 I purchased a 10" Total Latex bed from Brooklyn bedding. The softness level was Cushion firm. This bed was really comfortable and I really enjoyed sleeping on it. Unfortunately, I no longer have this bed (long story) and am looking to get something similar or maybe even better. I checked the Brooklyn bedding site and it looks totally different from what I remember at the time. I don’t see anything similar there.

Do you have any recommendations on something similar to this (from any good vendor)? I’m looking for something all latex. Organic/Natural options are a plus, but not a must have.

Size: Queen, Budget $2000 or less.
I’m 6’0", 170 LBS, Side/Back sleeper.

Thanks!

Hi Craig9939,

In 2013, the Brooklyn Bedding 10" Total Latex mattress used a top 1" quilt panel containing wool and a thin Reflex polyfoam layer, 3" of Talalay latex, and a 6" Dunlop or Talalay core at 36 ILD. The Cushion Firm was rated at a 5, which was probably in the upper 20 / lower 30 ILD range for the top 3" of Talalay, but I don’t recall off the top of my head the exact numbers back then.

The good news is that your old mattress is still produced in a configuration that is very close, if not exactly, like your old bed. Dreamfoam, makes the Ultimate Dreams Total Latex Mattress, and you may notice it bears a “striking resemblance” to your old 10" Total Latex Mattress from Brooklyn Bedding. I would phone Dreamfoam and explain that you had a 2013 10" BB Total Latex Mattress at the Cushion Firm (Level 5) comfort level, and then ask what equivalent that would be in the Ultimate Dreams Total Latex in 2017.

Good luck!

Thanks so much! Called Dreamfoam today and ordered my new bed

Hi Craig9939,

I’m glad I could be of assistance. I’ll be interested in learning about the mattress once you receive it and how it compares to your old one.
