I’m a big fan of Dixie Foam, but now I live in New England. My favorite mattress is still a 4" Dixie Foam carbamate high density mattress from the 1980’s. After all this time, it’s still the best! But yeah, this is getting ridiculous and we do need a new mattress. Are there any comparable mattresses to be found outside of the NY metropolitan area?

You can certainly find durable and comfortable beds outside of New York. We always recommend taking a look at our Trusted Members who have been vetted for product transparency, durability, subject knowledge, etc.
You may also find this resource on identifying a quality retailer useful.
As far as comparable, I can’t say. I’ve never slept on a Dixie Foam mattress. But if you tell the manufacturer/retailer of your choosing what it is you’re looking for, they’ll be able to help point you in the right direction.
