Luxerion Hybrid too firm for me?

Hello all, after sitting on it for several months, my husband and I took the plunge and bought a Luxerion Hybrid from Latex Mattress Factory. My spouse is 6’3" and 180 pounds and I am 5’2" and 118 pounds, both primarily side sleepers. We have been sleeping on it since the end of July, still within our 90 day window but coming up next month. My husband finds it very comfortable and has no issues. I find it comfortable at first, but I wake up in the middle of the night with my hip aching sometimes my arm and have to turn over.

After contacting them, they are suggesting a 3" talalay soft topper for me to get pressure relief. I am nervous given the timetable and potentially getting stuck with a mattress that doesn’t work for me. Does this seem like the right direction? Anyone else have this issue? I really want to like this mattress…not sure where we would turn if we have to start the process all over again.

What they’re suggesting is to basically add softness. A 3" layer of latex is a lot. What you could try is to get any thick comforter, or any soft blankets you might have at all, and fold it up to put on your side. And you can do this to where whatever you add will reach up to 3" thick. Then put the fitted sheet over it. With this you’ll find out if a topper will be enough to make it comfortable for you.

There are also thick wool toppers on Amazon for about 200. These add a very plush top layer that’s also temperature neutral. Sometimes really all you need is to dampen that latex bounce.

Jeremy from the Latex Mattress Factory is recommending the 3" over the 2" “because a 3” once layer of soft Talalay allows the areas that press most deeply into the mattress to sink in gradually while also providing enough latex to fill in the gaps between the rest of the body and the mattress. Supposedly at my weight, the Soft Talalay should provide a significant increase in cushioning without requiring me to sink excessively into the mattress".

I don’t know I am hesitant about spending a lot of time with other options. I meant to say we have had it since the end of June. So I basically have a month left on my 90 day sleep period.

They are smart so that could be likely to work. I was just thinking if you had a few quilts or a comforter you could fold it and place it on your side while waiting for the layer to arrive.

Thank you for the suggestion. I was actually wondering if 3" was too much myself, but he also makes sense.
