I am in desperate need of a new mattress but kind of frozen in making the purchase…
I bought a Simmons Beautyrest black 4 years ago and although it is not visually apparent (as the warranty requires) the mattress is slumping to the point where it is almost impossible to sleep on and feel rested.
I really don’t want the same to happen with my next mattress. Was it because it has a pillow top? The quality of the foam used? The summer heat?
I am interested in an inner spring mattress that is mostly natural and on the firm end of the spectrum-I have a slightly herniated disk and the firmer mattress helps with back sleeping although I like to sleep on my side too so not too firm.
I would like to keep the purchase under or around 2K(for a California king) but am willing to go up if there’s a good reason- but not just to pay for empty gimmics…like the beautyrest seemed to be.
Some mattresses’ I have tested and feel comfortable to me are… (most are not made with natural materials as id prefer)…
- Sterns and Foster “luxury firm” (I would have bough it but read that you think it is low quality),
-Lexington “pure therapy” (has natural parts including latex)
-Sleep Therapy, “Horizon”
-Serta icomfort, firm—read some reviews that these arrive not smelling good.
Satvaa is online and it seems strange to by w/o trying especially since I don’t know if I would prefer firm or their luxury firm, but they have a great return policy, are mostly natural and friends of friends love theirs.
In short do you have any pointers for me!?
Should I jump to the 2-3K price point?
Do you have a recommendation for a mattress that is both inner spring and latex / natural?
Your site is incredible, you have really figuired out beds—leaps beyond the consumer report!
I would love and appreciate any input you have to offer!
Thank You In Advance,
Caroline
