Mattress America? - mattressamerica.com and Amazon

Who makes these mattresses, or if they are the manufacturer, what are their other known names, and are they of decent quality?

I did a bit of looking and based on their address and phone number from the bottom of their site on mattressamerica.com it looks like they may be or related to Haaga Mattress in Utah. But then I’ve read on here searching for Haaga that there may be two Haaga Mattress companies. One or both of them seem to really be attempting to spread their online presence as there are several sites under the Haaga name.

Anyone have further information?

Referencing the Questions and Answers section on the Revive model on Amazon, they claim to use 5 lb. top layer and 2 lb. poly base foam. Seems too good to be true at this price point, but then their reviews are very good, and they reviews get a B on FakeSpot: Fakespot | Revive 12 Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattr... Fake Review

Hey garn:

I did just a little research and these look to be Chinese imports. See here. And here.

I’ve seen products like this at market. Not to say that good foam isn’t produced in China, but the ease of verification is quite a bit more difficult than domestically produced foam, and the time spent compressed is longer than domestic products. Personally, I tend to avoid mattresses like this.

As you said, if it seems too be good to be true…

Hi garn.

I’m not completely familiar with mattressamerica.com or Haaga Mattress in Utah. Upon doing a quick search the location listed for mattressamerica.com is the same for one of the Haaga Mattress stores (google map link here), as it is for JBJ Distribution LLC. The web sites for mattressamerica.com and haagamattresses are basically the same. At one point Haaga Mattress was selling mattresses made by other manufacturers (such as Englander, Spring Air etc) but last year at least one of them (and possibly both) started selling mattresses that they make themselves.

Your best bet would be a phone call to the facility to inquire about their products, as they have little meaningful information about the specifications of the foams they use in their mattresses on their web site. I would also avoid any mattress where you aren’t able to find out the information you need about every layer and component in the mattress (see this article) to make sure there are no lower quality materials or weak links in the mattress that would be a reason to avoid it.

Maybe some of the other members of this site have some information on this company or have visited their showroom in Utah.
