We ordered a queen mattress.net knock down wood foundation for our Tuft and Needle. We’ve now been on the kd foundation about a month.
Ordering was easy, but it took awhile for the foundation to be shipped. Communication was a little slow.
Setup was easy, the wood was in good condition. The cover that goes over the wood is a bit sloppy looking- it isn’t tight, but loose and doesn’t fit well.
I feel the foundation is a nice firm foundation for our new Tuft and Needle and I think provides good support.
The one question I have: this foundation is so noisy. There is no motion transfer from the Tuft and Needle when my husband gets out of bed, but what wakes me up is the foundation squeeking. It makes noise when I sit on the bed, or if there is any bouncing. And it’s quite loud, not subtle.
Is this normal for a wood foundation? Our last foundation was a flexible Euro slat foundation and it was quiet. Before that, we had always had box springs with coils. I am enjoying the flat surface across the mattress with the kd foundation- with the Euro slat foundation, I could feel the metal bar down the center of the mattress and couldn’t sleep in the middle of the mattress.
