Mattress Novilla

Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone here has had problems with a Novilla mattress. I’ve had mine for almost 3 years, and I haven’t been feeling well at all during that time — waking up with facial swelling, fatigue, and just generally feeling off. I recently cut into the mattress and found orange glue inside, and the smell gets even worse when I open a window.

Novilla claims their mattresses are certified, but when I checked the actual certification websites, I couldn’t find them listed — which makes me seriously question their claims.

Has anyone else experienced health issues or noticed strong chemical smells from this brand? I’m trying to figure out if this mattress could be the source of my symptoms.

Any input or shared experiences would mean a lot. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dani19.

Welcome to our Mattress Forum.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience, that sounds incredibly frustrating, and I’m really sorry you’ve been dealing with all of that.

While I don’t have direct experience with Novilla, you’re right to trust your instincts when something feels off. Facial swelling, fatigue, and worsening symptoms when the mattress is disturbed or exposed to airflow definitely raise red flags. The fact that the smell intensifies when you open a window suggests there could be off-gassing happening…possibly from adhesives or foams that aren’t as low-VOC or “certified safe” as claimed.

You also did the right thing by double-checking certifications. Unfortunately, some companies misuse or misrepresent these labels, and if you can’t find Novilla listed on the actual certification databases (like CertiPUR-US or OEKO-TEX), that’s definitely concerning.

If others here have had similar experiences, I hope they’ll chime in and if you’re seriously questioning your health around this mattress, it may be worth trying a temporary sleep setup (like an air mattress or different bed) to see if your symptoms improve. Keep us posted on what you find - wishing you answers and relief soon.
