My wife & I ordered a queen size Leesa foam mattress about 6 years ago. It was swapped out from sagging & we never liked the feel of the foam bed like we thought we would. Recently, we visited a few local mattress stores & thought we settled in on a Beautyrest Black Series 3 until we discovered a latex mattress. We went back to the local store with the latex mattress to confirm the comfort & we collectively agreed we love it. Going down the mattress rabbit hole, I discovered TMU & spoke with a few vendors from the site. We ended up going with DIY Mattress with a Talaly soft top, Talalay medium middle & Dunlop firm bottom in a king size & all layers split. We also ordered a split king size adjustable base from Sam’s to replace our queen adjustable base. We are hoping to receive all the components later this week or early next week. We also ordered a couple of king latex pillows from CST & they were very helpful. Thanks to all the posts & info on this site that helped us make a decision. Now we hope for a great sleep in the upcoming nights once everything arrives. I will post an update once everything is set up & we have time to test the mattress & pillows.
Good luck! It helps to have some extra help lifting and arranging the layers. Each layer is pretty heavy. You have to do the “latex wave” to get all the edges even and in the cover. It was an exhausting day (we’re late 60’s) but MAN was it a good night
All has been good so far. We ended up changing the layers around for testing, but settle on firm base layer, medium middle layer & soft top layer. We also tested the mattress without the will cover to get more of a plush feel, but we put to cover back on. All in all it has been great & the base from Sam’s has been rock solid & highly recommended.
