Hi 64diver,
(I moved your post back to your original thread. It helps to keep things organized not only for you but also for anyone else if you keep your posts together in the thread to which they refer.)
You’re very welcome.
Tempurpedic mattresses use good quality materials but as you know they are in much higher (and mostly unjustifiable) budget ranges and for most people they certainly wouldn’t be in the best “value” range compared to many other smaller manufacturers that use similar (or in some cases better) quality materials that are in much lower budget ranges. You can read more about Tempurpedic in general in posts #1 and #2 here.
The guidelines I suggest for the level of quality of memory foam and polyfoam in any memory foam mattress are listed in the quality and durability guidelines I linked to in my previous reply to you. Additionally, I’d suggest that you begin your mattress research by reading the Mattress Shopping Tutorial here. This will provide a detailed plan and course of action of how to logically proceed with the investigation and purchase of any style of mattress, including memory foam.
It sounds as if you’ve already read through some of the materials in the shopping tutorial, so that’s great! Another resource that you may wish to consider is to use the advice of some of the site members listed in post #21 here who are all very experienced and knowledgeable and specialize in providing guidance on the phone that can help you make good choices. There are a wide range of memory foam options included in the choices there and I believe that all of them compete well with the best in the industry in terms of their quality, value, service, and transparency. In addition to the online members of the site listed in the previous membership link, post #12 here has some of the better online memory foam options for those who are looking for a memory foam mattress.
I hope that is helpful.
