Mattress Shopping - side sleeper - Tempflow?

Hello!

New to this community and glad to have found this forum.

I am mattress shopping and finally at a place in life where I can spend more than 1k. A decade ago I had helped a family member shop for a mattress and we had settled on and loved the tempurpedic. Since then, I had had my mind on tempurpedic.

As such, in full confidence I went out and spent money on a Tempurpedic luxadapt firm, along with the adjustable frame, pillows, and of course the mattress proctor. BIG MISTAKE.

As it turns out - while in my less than 1k mattresses, firm might’ve been the way to go - the luxeadapt has given me considerable pain from neck to lower back, shoulder ache, and an all around terrible sleep to the point where I am sleeping on my old nectar now…

Hence my quest for mattress shipping begins. After having tried what I can only imagine must be all combinations - all latex, memory foam, hybrid latex, hybrid memory foam, traditional coil, purple, Saatva, naturopedic, harvest, stern and fosters, aeriloom in stores… I have decided that I really do prefer the feel of the memory foam.

I recently came across this company called tempflow - similar but almost better than tempurpedic? The problem: I can’t find much about this brand. Hoping folks here can provide some insight. Is it good? Do they have good customer service? I am having trouble finding the exact mattress with the firmness I was looking for on here… any suggestions? Are the temp flows firmness levels comparable to the tempurpedics?

I am a female, 160lbs and 5’4” but will be losing about 20 lbs in the next few months (no really) which causes my pelvic bones to protrude. Not sure if medium is the right firmness for this.

Also open to other suggestions. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Tempurpedic just came out with LuxeAdapt Medium Hybrid. I havent tried it.

What did you not like with Luxe Adapt Firm?

John

I currently have the luxebreeze firm. I sleep on my side and it’s too firm. I never knew what feeling on the wrong mattress felt like but I’ve woken up with pain from collarbone to lower back - some days to the point where I can’t turn or my arm that I slept on hurts.

When I went back to the store I tried mattresses again and settled on the luxeadapt medium but looks like tempflow doesn’t have that configuration.

I am on the east coast. Would they even deliver that far?

Tempflow probably does deliver.

So……you got LuxeAdapt Firm or LuxeBreeze Firm?

Id check out Aireloom Preferred Luxetop M1/M2 in Firm/Plush (4 mattresses). I like M1 Firm myself.

John

Im really considering Luxe Adapt Firm.

I’m sorry to hear about the disappointed experience you have had with your Tempur-Pedic. Though they have had some changes to their materials over the years, they are still far superior to the cheaply made overseas memory foam mattresses that have flooded the marketplace. Even so, each situation is unique. Though I have been designing mattresses for of 20-years and I am good at matching up the right recommendation for most people, I can tell you that you never really know a mattress until you sleep on it. One thing that sets me apart from any other mattress designer I know of, is that I work directly with customers in our Flagship Southern California store that has all the designs I create, as well as practically every brand you can think of. It’s why I understand your point about preferring a memory foam feel, but being frustrated with it not producing the results you need. Tempflow is coming out with the SupremeConforma Medium Hybrid, which is a close match to the Tempur-Pedic LuxAdapt Medium Hybrid, so if you want to be one of the early adopters and try this model, I can work with the production team to make that happen for you. I will also say that I would be happy to speak to you about the idea of going with a Back Science version with Tempflow memory foam, so you can have the comfort of the memory foam materials you crave, but with the highly specialized Lumbar-Flex, interlocking, double zoned back support. This may give you the best of both worlds to both protect your back and give you a much more comfortable and ultra-conforming feel. Feel free to reach to us and you can ask for me personally when you email or call use through the BackScience.com or Tempflow.com site and for both, you we’ll make sure you get the extra discount that we offer TheMattressUnderground.com readers (TMU10).h

Hi Mattressnewbie, and welcome to the community here!

I don’t know where you are on the east coast, but we have showrooms in NYC and Westchester County in NY. The Aireloom mattresses will soon be available to try in our Westchester County location. You can take a look at them here.. We would be happy to help you find a mattress that works for you. We also have customizable latex and of course, Naturepedic, with which you are already familiar. Most of our mattresses can be customized and you have the option of swapping layers after purchase if it isn’t working.

We also have a number of latex and wool toppers. I wonder if adding a topper to give you some pressure point relief would be helpful.
Let us know if we can help!
