Hi Phoenix, I am considering a custom made Latex mattress. They use a 6" core, 33 ILD from LatexCo. What would be better for a comfort layer, one 2" talalay 17ILD or two 1" talalay 17ILD? The comfort layers would be on each side of the core to allow the mattress to be 2 sided and flippable. Thanks

There wouldn’t be that much difference in feel or performance (separate layers would be a little softer unless they were laminated) but I would use a single 2" layer because it will be less subject to shifting and possible damage (1" latex layers can tear when stretched or handled more easily than a 2" layer). If the two 1" layers were laminated then there wouldn’t be much difference.
