I’ve finally come to the conclusion after 2 tries with latex that my body needs memory foam - partly because of my size - 5’3", 115lbs, and partly due to all my spinal issues - I need that gentle “hug” and cradling to relieve pressure points. Even Talalay is not what I want/need,
I finally made my way into the local Tempurpedic store and fell in love with the Luxe Adapt Medium Hybrid, and because that’s out of my price range, the Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid. Surprisingly, I found the Soft (I think it was a Pro Adapt but not sure) too soft. So I learned I don’t like a soft bed OR a medium bed, I like a Medium Soft bed, and I think I like hybrids better for the airflow and support because I’m worried about horror stories of sagging.
That said, I recently learned that Tempurpedic uses fiberglass as their fire retardant. That’s pretty much a deal breaker for me, because I’ve also read the horror stories of the remediation required when there is fiberglass contamination.
So, I am on the hunt again. While I am looking I was considering a Tempur Topper to put on my Serta too-firm Medium Firm bed, but I have read they are not as dense as they used to be, and I don’t want to waste $400 since they aren’t returnable.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good quality memory foam topper, and a memory foam hybrid mattress that might be comparable to the TP Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid?
I came across Tempflow but I am concerned that they’ve been around for 20+ years and have so few reviews, and their prices are identical to Tempurpedic so I don’t know what I’d be gaining. I also can’t find them in the CertiPur-US directory or UL Green Guard Gold directory although they have those badges on their website.
I did look at the Layla Hybrid, which seems close, but perhaps more firm, and not as high quality as the Tempurpedic.
