I’m liking the Rocky Mountain SensusSleeps, but I don’t know whether to get an 8’’ or a 10’’ what would be the difference between them.
Also how would I arrange the support layers for a fimer feel?
Thanks!!
Colin

Hi colinphanna,
A phone conversation with Rocky Mountain Mattress would probably be your best source of information about the difference in “feel” between their mattresses (they will know about how their mattresses compare than anyone else) but in very general terms thinner mattresses or thinner layers of memory foam will tend to be firmer.
The 8" versions include 3" of memory foam (either 4 lb or 5 lb) and their 10" mattresses have 4" (either the 5 lb Sensus or two 2" layers of 4 lb Aerus and 5 lb Sensus).
A conversation with them would also be the best source of information about the layering that would be most suitable for you (and firmer isn’t always better) but again in very general terms the higher the ILD of the base layers or using higher ILD layers closer to the top of the mattress under the memory foam will increase the firmness of the support layers. For example 40 ILD is firmer than 32 ILD and using a 40 ILD layer over a 32 ILD layer would be firmer than using the 32 ILD layer over a 40 ILD layer.
