Motion Isolation

We have a talalay mattress and every time my wife gets into bed or moves around I feel it and wake up. How would you adjust the mattress to reduce the movement? Please help.

Thanks a lot

Rochelle - What type of base or foundation is the latex mattress on? I鈥檝e read that the stability and rigidity of its foundation can affect motion isolation of latex mattresses.

Wooden slats with a bed beam.
Thanks for your help

Hey Rochelle,

Welcome to the TMU Forum  ! Thanks for your question.

Agreed, problems with partner movement and motion in a mattress is a frustrating but not unusual situation. Generally speaking, talalay latex is considered to be quite effective for motion isolation and separation due to the nature of its support. Just curious about your sleep system and specifics of mattress/ base set up, here are some questions for you:

路 Who made the mattress and what brand is it?
路 What size mattress is it?
路 When did you purchase it?
路 What type firmness is it?
路 What design is the top of the mattress? Is it button tufted?
路 What is the bed frame connected to, a headboard or other piece of furniture?

And a much deserved shout-out goes to consumer member @SweetDreams, thanks for your excellent counsel and support of the Mattress Underground :cheer: !

Cheers,
