Back in February, I posted here asking for advice on when I should made the purchase for a brand new mattress. Wife and I have our eyes set on a tempur pedic mattress. However, with their mattress price way over $5000 and we just spend all of our money buying a new home, we have decided to look for other alternatives and Select Foam caught our eyes.
We were a little skeptical at first, since we never slept on the mattress before, but we went ahead and purchased the Regalis Eastern King from select foam. The brand new mattress came in a small box weighted 126 lbs. Oh boy, it was heavy trying to move it up the stairs. We have the mattress lay on the IKEA slate bed. Once the bed start to roll out, we immediate saw a little concave slope right in the middle of the mattress on both the left and right side. I told my wife that let’s air the mattress out before we jump into conclusion. we waited out for one day and I did some research. What happen was, Select Foam rolled up the mattress before glue holding the layers together dried, thus leaving the layers unevenly sticking together.
We end up calling select foam to notify them our findings. Matt actually picked up the phone and address the issues for us. He and Juan ensure me and my wife got the mattress that we went. He also pointed out that select foam might changed the mattress cover materials and sign me up for a research group ( I still haven’t heard back any thing from them yet).
The bottom line is: The Regalis Mattress is very close to the competitor Tempur Pedic mattress, it is very comfortable and both me and my wife loves it. Their quality control needs to be on the ball before they send the mattress to the customer. Will I purchase the mattress from them again? Probably, but I will call Matt and order it next time to ensure everything is according to PAR.
