Need a new mattress but moving

I have a mattress that is great but it is about 8 years old, has a few minor issues (a little crunchiness from the springs around my hips). Also I’m moving and decided to upgrade myself to a king bed anyway.

I have the following from European sleep works:

https://sleepworks.com/mattress/alpine-hdm/

It’s listed as 1.6/soft on my bill of sale.

I’m moving to Kansas and wondering where I would go to find a bed with a similar feel and construction.

I guess I could buy from European sleep works but I’m a little scared of shipping costs since they seem to mainly be a local outfit.

Oh I should mention that I’m 5’8" 230lbs and 75% side, 25% back sleeper.

Thanks for sharing the details. Since you’re looking for something similar to the Alpine HDM from European Sleep Works, it’s definitely worth trying to match both the comfort level and the construction, especially the zoned pocket coil system combined with latex comfort layers.

Rather than searching for something similar elsewhere, I’d recommend contacting European Sleep Works directly and speaking with one of their mattress professionals. They may be able to modify or even duplicate your existing mattress to match exactly what you’re looking for, especially if you’re trying to hit the same feel and support of your current setup. If not, I am certain they could offer some valuable insight on what to look for that matches the preferences you are looking for.

If you are still within the ESW general vicinity, they may have someone who can evaluate the mattress, and see if there are any issues that can be accommodated before you leave on your move out of state or craft one that can be shipped that meets your current preferences, since 8 years is time enough for body changes. They might also have shipping solutions to Kansas that aren’t listed online, so it’s definitely worth the conversation.

All the best,

Maverick
