Need a new mattress in Tulsa, OK

I need a new mattress for my 14 year old daughter. I don’t want to go crazy on the price as this will be a guest room mattress in a few years, but she has had some SI Joint issues in the past with back pains, so I certainly don’t want to skimp on quality. Are there any dealers in the area that you recommend?

Also, you say to avoid major brands, there is a “local” brand called Lady Americana, are you familiar with them?

That you for this website, I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about mattresses, lol!

Hi Cathenderson,

Yes … they make some above average quality/value mattresses but of course prices will vary from store to store and mattress to mattress and they are made by different licensee factories across the country. More importantly though, they are usually transparent about all the materials inside their mattresses so you can make meaningful comparisons and identify any weak links in a mattress.

Of course the brand itself really doesn’t matter because outside of careful and accurate testing for PPP, the most important part of the quality or value of a mattress is the quality/durability of the construction and materials inside which are always much more important than the name on the label (see this article).

A forum search on Lady Americana (you can just click this) will bring up more information about them (such as here and here).
