Need help finding an *extremely* durable mattress

Hey Bill, sorry about the delay in getting back to you. E very time I remembered you had asked for a follow-up, I was away from a computer. I made it a point today.

It is definitely not too firm. In fact, it is surprisingly soft. Waaaay softer than the BigFig ever was. There is pretty much no edge support, which I kind of miss. But when I first slept on it, I got a good great night’s sleep because I was going from a 3 year old broken down BigFig to a brand new mattress. It was really nice. Now I’ve been on it something like 3 weeks, and it’s crazy, but I feel like it is breaking in too much already. I don’t think it’s going to last very long–probably not even the 3 years that the BigFig lasted. I e-mailed the company already to check into the return policy, and it’s pretty good (sorta). You have to send them a donation slip to a local charity, and then the refund your money. The trick is getting a charity in a small town to actually accept a mattress, and then you’ve got the problem of–will they pick it up? I have no way to haul a mattress. But I feel like I can find a place, probably. I don’t think it’ll come to that immediately, but it won’t be long.

So I guess I’ll be on the mattress hunt again soon. I really feel like there is no mattress out there for me. Something that feels good for 5 years? Yeah, right. lol

But the sale price was good and refund policy seems workable. I just got up from a nap on it and it was great. Very soft mattress. Not what I expected. Maybe a tad too soft, but still comfortable.

Brian,

Thanks for getting back to us with an update. Like you I’m surprised by your findings about the Titan being relatively soft, just shows how subjective firmness can be since everything I’ve read has said how firm it was. Sorry to hear that it’s continuing to soften but better you discover that while you’re within your trial period than later. As far as their return policy, while it would be ideal for you to find a local charitable organization that will pick it up and give you a donation receipt that may be more difficult than usual in the current environment. I know in the Chicago area there used to be a few such possibilities but are currently none. If you can’t find a charitable organization willing to take it you should let BB know, and I believe they’ll then be able to make other arrangements to possibly have it picked up for recycling and you’d still get the refund. That’s what most internet mattress sellers are doing if a charitable donation can’t be made. Good luck and hope you’re able to find something better suited for your needs.
