I have problems with current bed - my back kills me, I think because it is not firm enough in my mid section and it sags with my weight. It is a purple 2.0 I believe. I really would like to go to an all Latex bed. What do you guys recommend? I figure a king with split sides since our bodies are so different - but I have no idea brands, firmness, etc. Looking for some guidance.
Most of the trusted members here have latex sleep systems that will accommodate two sleepers with completely different PPP’s. A lot of great suggestions so far. You also may want to take the body profile questionnaire from trusted member Custom Sleep TechnologyCST Body Profile. This may be a great way to start your new search. Once you have taken the profile, either Bob at CST can help you pinpoint the perfect his and hers combination and if for whatever reason you want to keep looking, you have an idea of what will work best for you. You should take a look at how their performance mattress systems work. You can literally target each critical area of your body. If your profile changes, you can swap segments as your needs change.
The Obasan’s from Clean Bedroom is very nice and has that beautiful matching, but completely functional topper available. Personally, I like a topper on the bed system as I am an advocate that toppers extend the life of the mattress by absorbing the initial impact of the force applied by larger sleepers.
As a primary stomach sleeper, you probably realize by now that you need a firm sleeping surface where your body will not sink causing your back muscles to strain and cause pain.
Keep in mind that based on the firmness of the mattress, and whether you sleep on the surface of the mattress of with a bit of sink, due to your size, this can cause your head and shoulders to require the appropriate pillow with a targeted loft for your sleeping position. The incorrect pillow/s and pillow loft can make the perfect mattress have a unrealized problem if the pillow does not match up with the firmness of the mattress, the broadness of your shoulders and the distance from the surface of the mattress to your head. You do not want your head over angled up or down adding additional strain on your upper body and neck.
Of course, it is always better to test and lay on a mattress for a solid 20-30 minutes when possible. Having said that, based on your PPP’s, tools such as CST’s body profile and Bob’s 20 years latex experience or the expertise of professionals like those at the Clean Bedroom can help you nail the perfect mattress base on specs alone.
Good luck with it, you are in good hands and happy holidays.
