Nest Alexander Signature Flippable equivalent?

Hi Mattress experts and enthusiestics,

We have an alexander signature flippable for ~5 yrs and definitely love it. However, our bedroom was damaged last winter and now we have to replacement our mattress. Unfortunately, nest bedding no longer carries this mattress and their don’t have a similar alternative in their current products. Could we know if there are other memory foam mattresses that are close to Nest Alexander Signature Flippable? Thanks in advance.

We are in northern California, if it helps.

Hi cornemuse, and welcome to the Mattress Underground

Sorry to hear about your bedroom damage! And glad that you enjoyed the Alexander for the last 5 years. The Nest Bedding Alexander flippable was replaced by the Raven flippable, lower in height, but with the same quality of construction and components, the main difference being it’s a hybrid, with a 6" pocket coil core instead of base foam for support. As any mattress you decide on will be unique to you, based on your Stats (height, BMI, sleeping position(s) and any underlying health concerns) and your PPP(Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, and Personal preferences) it’s difficult to assess the suitability of durability of and memory foam mattress without this info.

In general, we recommend any foam in a potential mattress has no more than an inch or so of lower grade foams (for memory foam no lower than 4 lbs/cuft for normal range weights, and 5lbs/cuft for higher range weights) and if polyfoam is used, with at least 1.8 lbs/cuft density, just to ensure you have support.

If you enjoy the feel of an all memory/poly foam mattress, and the option of ‘evening out’ the wear on your mattress with a flippable model, a number of the other Trusted Members of the site also carry memory foam and flippable foam mattresses…if you can provide your Stats and the ‘feel’ you are looking for, we may be able to provide further suggestions for your sleep system.

Thanks Basilio! We would like to stick to memory foam for better motion separation. Flippable is not crucial to us: For the years we spent with the Alexander, we always uses the firm side. Both me (5’10" 165lbs) and my wife (5’1" 120lbs) are mainly side and occasionally back sleepers without any chronical back/neck pains. Our target budget is ~$1.5k.

Thanks for your Stats! Since you are both lower BMI, and enjoyed the Nest Alexander, any of their foam hybrids should give you the same level of comfort and support, and you already
Know the quality, which takes a lot of the stress out of mattress shopping!
