I began posting about my mattress journey back in January. It’s been a long, troubling process that is still going. I’m not going to go into all the details, but I’m 125-130lbs, 5’4", prefer to start sleeping on my side. Sometimes, wake on my back. With the old King Koil hybrid mattress (hybrid w/some latex) I had about 2 years ago, I developed hip pain, so that began my journey. I have slightly budging discs in my neck, so I used latex and a Coop original pillow. I didn’t care for the feeling of memory form. I looked online for a very long time before deciding on a mattress: Here is what I’ve tried (and failed) in the last year or so:
- Plush Beds Botanical Bliss Medium 9", way too firm even with their soft topper. Hip pain increased & developed slight lower back pain.
- Leesa Legend 12", again way too firm. Added an old 3" memory foam topper as a band-aid until the next option.
- Still convince that latex was best, I ordered from Sleep EZ after talking to their great rep, Rodger. Tried various configurations but couldn’t get comfortable, and hip pain was still a variable. Although, I was one of the 3-5% who returned their mattress, their mattresses seem to be very well made and I was very disappointed. I spoke with 4 reps at Sleep EZ and each one was knowledgeable, professional, very kind, and not one hard sell from any of them. Truly a great company to work with.
- Ended up with a Soft Wink mattress. It sleeps hot and doesn’t feel soft. I’m now sleeping in the middle and can’t sleep on my side for long. I didn’t fully understand what it means to sleep hot until this experience. I have the a/c set at what should be a very comfortable sleeping temperature, only use a sheet, yet whatever side of me is touching the mattress gets very hot while the rest of me is cold. Bizare. So, I’ve reread the responses to my original thread here and many other threads.
NikkiTMU mentioned the Nest Signature Sparrow in one of the responses (original thread Petite-ish side sleeper - Desperate for new queen mattress).
That is what I’m leaning towards now.
I see they are a trusted member, but don’t have a section in Talk To The Experts. I’m interested in any info/experience anyone has had with this mattress or company. I’ve come across some poor experiences with their customer service and returns. Also, some mentions of the quality not being what it used to be.
Also, I have a Ryze silver adjustable bed.
