We’ve decided it’s time for a new mattress. We currently have an 18 year old comfortaire need that’s served us well, bit as we’ve aged we need more back support. I used to have a natural latex mattress but that was over 30 years ago and in my first marriage. I didn’t think it would go over too well to tell my wife of 26 years that the bed I had in my first marriage was the best, so I let her read the reviews and recommendations and she said it looked like latex was the best (yeah).
So now we have to figure out the firmness we want/need. Based on posts here I’ve decided that Sleep EZ would be the best place to buy from. Rather than try to figure out the firmness levels that we’d need I’d talk to them tomorrow. So I just wanted to take the time to say thank you Phoenix for all the information you provide through this forum.
Thanks for taking the time to share your comments and for and for the “strategic tips” about “delicate” situations that can “help” a spouse come to the “best” decision
I completely agree that when you can’t test a mattress in person or you haven’t tried a latex mattress with a combination of layers that is very similar then a conversation with SleepEZ would certainly be your best source of guidance for layering combinations and firmness choices for each layer.
As you know you are certainly making a great quality/value choice … and congratulations on your new mattress
I’m looking forward to your comments and feedback once you’ve pulled the trigger and have received your new mattress and have had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.
Well, I ordered or mattress yesterday from Sleep EZ. I decided to go with the Organic Latex mattress because of my previous experience with a latex mattress and I didn’t want any blended latex. I thought I wanted the 13" but after talking with the salesman (sorry, can’t remember his name) I went with the 10". He said there wouldn’t be much, if any, noticeable difference between the 13" and 10" for us. Since we both like a firmer bed we decided on MT-MD-FD (from top down) using split layers. Hopefully we won’t regret the medium firmness on the top level, but we’ll have to see after we try it out for a while. Surprisedly the mattress has already shipped and we should have it by the weekend.
Thanks again Phoenix for all your input on this site, it’s been invaluable to me in my search.
