new purchase

Thinking of a new natural latex mattress from Arizona matress or matresses.net. Are they actually a 100 percent natural latex dunlop and talalay or do they use a blend of synthetic. I’ve read that all natural latex will last 20 plus years with no sagging, but a synthetic blend could break down . Thank you for response.

Hi briang,

Arizona premium sells a range of latex mattresses that use either blended Talalay or you can upgrade the same mattresses to 100% natural Talalay as well. They also have organic Dunlop mattresses and mattresses with Dunlop support cores and Talalay comfort layers as well as a pocket coil/latex hybrid and latex/polyfoam hybrids as well. They have some of their “standard” designs on their website but they are also a manufacturer that can make customized designs as well.

They are knowledgeable, experienced, and are transparent about all the mattresses they sell and are well worth talking to about all the options they have available.

There is also more about the different types and blends of latex in this article and in post #6 here and post #2 here, there is more about 100% natural Talalay vs blended Talalay in post #2 here, and there is more about the general characteristics of natural rubber vs synthetic rubber in post #2 here that can help you sort through much of the misleading information that you may be exposed to or told while you are researching mattresses (such as 100% natural Talalay being more durable than blended Talalay).

There is also more about the differences in “feel” between Dunlop and Talalay in post #7 here. I would treat the choice between the different types of latex as a preference and budget choice more than a “better/worse” choice.
