One sided mattress

Hello,
Wondering if all one-sided mattresses are of poor quality?
I am not able to flip a mattress myself so that is an issue.
I do not want to be limited to memory foam mattresses as I need something without VOC’s due to asthma. Can you offer any advice on my dilemma?
Thank you.

Hi Trxfred.

Thanks for your question!

The majority of mattresses these day are one-sided and many are very durable and made with high quality materials. If you haven’t already, I’d check out our Mattress Durability Guidelines to help you gain more knowledge about what kind of mattress may be most durable for you.

Since you are looking for something free of VOCs, are you considering latex? Latex is the most breathable and durable of mattress foams.

Without knowing any of your sleep stats, it’s hard for me to make much more meaningful commentary. I’d suggest browsing our Trusted Member Directory and keep in mind that it is important to have a detailed conversation with whomever you choose to purchase from and provide them with your stats, body type, sleeping styles, general preferences and history, some general information about your current mattress, or what you have tested, and any other specific information or circumstances that could affect your choice of a mattress so they can help you choose which may be your best fit from their inventory.

Thanks so much Nikki!
I have been making my way through the tutorial and have been writing down pieces that seem applicable to me. I got a referral on this site to a trusted store not too far a drive, Gardner furniture. I have bought from major retailers before and have had memory foam. Currently on Rogers mattress as referred by Old Bed Guy about 5 years ago. In bad back pain now. Have had back pain on and off for years so that is an issue with a bed, correct support. I am a side sleeper and a female. 5’ 7" , 126 pounds, 36 X 24 X 36. I am not sure if that is flat or curvy! My weight is fairly evenly distributed, I think. My cat sleeps with me and has bad asthma so o appreciate the latex info. I’m vegan but may need to make accommodations to get that right bedding. I’m hoping someone at Gardner can help me find the right fit. I have decent flexibility with budget and my bed frame is a full size which can be a bit tricky. I’ll prob need to replace both mattress and box spring. Any help is most appreciated!

Hi Trxfred.

I definitely understand considering the needs of your cat! I had to modify my bed so my paralyzed cat can safely enter and leave my bed as necessary, with causing an injury.

Gardner is one of our Trusted Members which means we thin very highly of them and believe they compete with among the best in the industry. They offer this organic vegan hybrid mattress which is also a great option for eliminating VOCs from the equation. I am confident they will be able to help you find a great match.
