I’m not even sure how to phrase this question. I have called at least 4 mattress retailers (that are or were Mattress Underground members), and have not been able to reach them over the course of 7 hours.
I obviously am going with an online retailer because I do not want to pay for a full time clerical staff along with my mattress, but without being able to contact these companies by phone, how do they stay in business?

I’m not sure how to answer you except by saying that you may be a little impatient if they haven’t returned your call or message after only 7 hours. It may be a busy time of day or a busy day in general where they are on the phone with other customers and if you leave a message and they haven’t called you back in 24 hours then I would just try again. In most cases none of them are usually that difficult to reach either through a phone call, an email, or their online chat if they have one.

Phoenix, you are most certainly correct. I am a LOT impatient! In my defense, part of my impatience is finding out my adjustable bed bases are coming on Monday which is 2 full weeks earlier than expected. I had to talk the local freight company out of delivering them today!
I have had a Talalay latex mattress for 7 years, and it’s just not for me. Memory foam toppers were the only thing that kept it out of a dumpster for 6.9 of those 7 years.
Long story short, I had a short list of 3-4 online retailers (beds) and ended up talking to Mario at Brooklyn Bedding last night, and based on a great conversation with him, ordered their Symphony (after test driving the Tempur Rhapsody with positive PPP results).
Thanks to the Mattress Underground for giving me the tools and resources to make, what I feel, was a very informed choice from a distance. I have Multiple Sclerosis along with a myriad of other painful health issues, so I am really glad I took the time to find MY best value.
I look forward to updating you with tales of blissful slumber.
I can certainly understand your impatience given the circumstances!
I’m glad though that you were able to reach Brooklyn Bedding and talk to them about their mattresses and I think you certainly ended up making a great quailty/value choice.
Congratulations on your new mattress
I’m looking forward to your feedback when you receive it.
