phoenix and latex 2012!!!

Hi joeyTOB,

There you go again … saying one thing …

then framing and trying to control the terms of discussion and response inside your own limitations, opinions, and restrictions … and implying the complete opposite of what you are saying you respect.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) you don’t get to decide my options (or anyone else’s) or how many choices I may have … or accurately characterize them inside your own terms and implications. This is no different than saying you can ā€œeither buy from me or buy junkā€. You don’t control the choices people have or how they may choose to respond to you.

The truth is that I don’t respect your opinions or more specifically how you frame them as either black or white choices with predetermined outcomes assigned by you according your your opinions and beliefs. This is more like programming and control tactics than open discussion. I do however respect your right to hold any opinions you may have whether I agree with them or even respect them or not.

I agree with your examples about how you have provided value and I applaud you for what you did. My point all along is that these examples of value in many different ways is not limited to certain types of outlets and is part of what people are buying when they choose a ā€œbusinessā€ to make their purchase from.

We have agreed with this all along and was also a point I have been trying to make.

I don’t ban people unless they are breaking the rules and even then I usually allow a lot of latitude inside any grey areas so there is no room for doubt. I also have no need to protect any ā€œtheoryā€ … it simply is my thoughts and opinions and what I believe and what people do with them is up to them.

I follow the same forum rules as everyone else follows … and I will leave the implications of rest of your comments to speak for themselves.

So Joey Ashley owner of the organic bedroom … and ā€œnot an outletā€ … I send my regards back to you.

Did I pass your test for how long this was supposed to be or did I end up failing once again and just posting meaningless drivel that nobody pays any attention to anyway

Phoenix

I humbly bow to the Phoenix the all knowing king of discount matttress and his uncanny ability to write things longer than needed. I scan the front page and what sticks out more than anything he must have the last comment on everything. This will bug him to write a long message as when you look on the home page his name will not be listed last as it is in 95% of all the other posting. I here by yield and honor your Value proposition as we all should not provide opinion yet just hear that theory for the 18,000th time. Once again I humbly yield and await your long response and apologize for ever questioning Phoenix the undisputed ruler of online mattress advice. I shall change my business to Mattress-Mart tomorrow as I have seen the light. Humbly yours from Mattress Mart…

I think everyone has read enough on this topic–both explicitly and implicitly–to determine which ideas/whose ideas reflect their own. Unfortunately, it seems that the conversation has declined to sarcasm and name-calling. I understand both points of view, I think…as would most people who read this topic. Maybe it’s best if this topic is considered closed until someone can offer additional information or insight not yet expressed in this topic. For instance, Coventry’s posts were insightful.

Joey,

I don’t see the point at all in the last post you wrote. If you’d like help future customers, maybe try writing why you feel purchasing locally would be in a customers best interest. I’ve seen really no compelling reasons besides a few stories and vague comments about respect and ā€˜looking people in the eye’. I’m sorry but bluntly, I’m appalled at the level of communication put forth by you on a public forum seeking to inform possible customers about products that might help them.

I thought wer were going to drop it… my last comment would be I am equally apalled that people would buy something as important as a mattress without feeling it ans equally as price as the primary buying driver. I cant stand tempurpedic but on here I saw it being recommended brands I know are chinese made bad products and people being told they were a better value. Its not. I think if you check the post you started the real believe and what I shared with Phoenix when he called me for well over an hour the other night is that the large companies are laughing as we knock each other down and not focus on the inacuracies they put out. I am sorry you are appalled but again to me a mattress and your health is too important to purchase like a new sweater online.

This topic has been locked (the first one that has been locked in the history of the forum) and is now read only … and I thank teaguejb for his comments and suggestion.

For those who wish to share some of their thoughts about the advantages and disadvantages of an online vs a local purchase … and hopefully focus on the advantages and disadvantages of each in a more reasoned manner … Coventry has started a thread here which would be the perfect place to do so.

With apologies to Kevkel who was the original poster and didn’t deserve to have their thread take off in a completely different direction from the original intent.
