Opinions on DreamFoam's 13 inch Gel-Foam Bed

Hello,

I plan on buying my first foam bed in the next week or so. I randomly stumbled across this website when I was looking up different foam beds. I came to the conclusion that the 13 inch bed by DreamFoam was great quality for the price (especially compared to the ones I’ve tried out in local stores which usually cost two times to five times as much).

I was hoping to get some help/feedback on the longevity of the bed or any info on the DreamFoam bed in general.

It would also be great if someone know how soft is their “medium-soft” and “soft” versus firm. From what I understand, DreamFoam will alter how soft the bed is, but I have no idea how soft the average bed is (I understand this is hard to describe online in text form, but any comparison would really help me).

At the moment, this is the bed I’m planning on getting, so any comment/help is greatly appreciated!

Hi ThatOneGuy,

Brooklyn Bedding which makes the mattress has said the 13" Gel memory foam mattress has a very similar feel but slightly firmer than the Tempurpedic Cloud Luxe so you could test this at a store to get a sense of how it would feel. Several of the members here that have purchased it has said this was a close description. A forum search on ultimate dreams 13 gel (you can just click this) will bring up many more comments and feedback about it.

The mattress itself uses similar quality materials to the Tempurpedic Cloud Luxe (4 lb and 5 lb memory foam and a 2.35 lb polyfoam base layer). You can assess the quality of any mattress if you know the quality of all the layers and they are fully transparent about what is in their mattresses.

The gel memory foam mattress just comes in one version. Their latex hybrid mattresses are the ones where you can choose the firmness of your comfort layer. If you do decide on this then it would probably be a good idea to do some local testing on latex because it is very different from memory foam and one person’s soft is another person’s firm. Body type, sleeping style, and different perceptions can also make a big difference on what feels soft or firm to each person.
