I am an architect and my wife and I care deeply about the environment we live in. Even thought money was short this month, it was clear to us that our four and a half year old Keetsa pillowplus had failed us. I got back from a trip from Europe and, in contrast to the hotel bed, it felt like sleeping on the floor. My wife agreed. We had a bad experience with a big mattress store (Ortho in Los Angeles) so we were loath to go back to one. I went by a Sleepy’s anyway, but since we have a platform bed (Case Study Bed by Modernica), our maximum size was 11". They didn’t have anything of that size. No surprise. We looked at Casper, Saatva, Tuft & Needle, and so on, but in the end bit the bullet and went for a Berkeley Ergonomics from Urban Natural on Route 17 in northern NJ. Ali, the salesman, was no pressure, super nice. What sold me—we didn’t even go to the Charles P. Rogers store as we’d planned—was that the mattress has a zipper and can be opened up so it can be adjusted.
I am lying on the mattress right now, typing this message and there’s no question it’s much more comfortable. I’ll report back after a night on it and sometime in the future.
