Our Choice was Berkeley Ergonomics

I am an architect and my wife and I care deeply about the environment we live in. Even thought money was short this month, it was clear to us that our four and a half year old Keetsa pillowplus had failed us. I got back from a trip from Europe and, in contrast to the hotel bed, it felt like sleeping on the floor. My wife agreed. We had a bad experience with a big mattress store (Ortho in Los Angeles) so we were loath to go back to one. I went by a Sleepy’s anyway, but since we have a platform bed (Case Study Bed by Modernica), our maximum size was 11". They didn’t have anything of that size. No surprise. We looked at Casper, Saatva, Tuft & Needle, and so on, but in the end bit the bullet and went for a Berkeley Ergonomics from Urban Natural on Route 17 in northern NJ. Ali, the salesman, was no pressure, super nice. What sold me—we didn’t even go to the Charles P. Rogers store as we’d planned—was that the mattress has a zipper and can be opened up so it can be adjusted.

I am lying on the mattress right now, typing this message and there’s no question it’s much more comfortable. I’ll report back after a night on it and sometime in the future.

Hi Tau_Ceti,

Thanks for taking the time to share your comments and experience about Urban Natural … and congratulations on your new mattress

As you know I think you made a good quality/value choice and I’m looking forward to any additional updates once you’ve had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.

Phoenix

I appreciated all of your posts Phoenix. Hoping this one works out for us.

Very impressive how the mattress can be tuned if you don’t like it after you get it.

No memory foam and also no smell whatsoever.

Congratulations on an excellent choice.
My wife and I sleep on the BE zoned latex mattress and have to say it’s been comfortable since day one.
When we wake up, we don’t feel a mattress beneath us, it’s that comfortable.

Enjoy your good sleep!

I didn’t mention that half the mattress is soft and half is firm, thanks to the ability to open up the mattress covering and swap latex in and out.
