I’ve read those heggedal posts after leaving the store and after reading realized that we didn’t check out which base the mattress was supported on so we will see.
Currently it’s between the ikea heggedal and the Serra iseries vantage until we get some other mattresses tested out.

As you probably know from your reading here … the Serta Vantage certainly wouldn’t be an option I would consider and the lower quality materials would likely be an even bigger durability issue with your weight (see post #2 here). I would be very cautious here.
I would also make sure you can find out the information listed here about the Heggedal so you can make more meaningful comparisons with other mattresses as well. It wouldn’t have any obvious weaknesses like the Vantage but once again with your weight and the lower coil count pocket coil it may also not make the best possible choice either.

I don’t know what it means exactly either (other than perhaps referring to the spine decompressing and the discs rehydrating over the course of the night) and I didn’t see the terminology on the pages you linked. Do you have a link to where this term is used?
I don’t have any personal experience on any of these mattresses and there are too many variables involved with sleeping temperature relative to different people and mattress constructions to know for certain how hot or cool any mattress will sleep for any particular person (outside of actually measuring your sleeping temperature with testing equipment over the course of the night). There is more information in this link which I posted in my previous reply that can help you decide whether you may be more or less likely to sleep hot on any particular mattress based on the materials and components inside it.
The Dreamfoam is a softer memory foam mattress that is comparable to the Tempurpedic Cloud Luxe in terms of its softness/firmness. The Tuft & Needle is a polyfoam mattress that would probably feel firmer for most people.
As I mentioned in my previous replies … when you can’t test a mattress in person then the most reliable source of guidance will be a more detailed phone conversation with a knowledgeable and experienced online retailer or manufacturer who will be in the best position to help “talk you through” the options they have available that would likely be the best “match” for you based on the information you provide them, any local testing you have done, and the “averages” of their customers that are similar to you (see mattress firmness/comfort levels in post #2 here).

The mattress you linked is missing the information you would need about the type and blend of the latex in the upper layers and the density of the polyfoam support core to make meaningful comparisons with other mattresses.
If you can provide the specifics of all the layers (see here) and list them on the forum I’d be happy to make some comments about the quality of the materials in any of their mattresses.

I would help me if you could ask more specific questions instead of the type of open ended questions you are asking. I’m not clear what you are asking me to comment on that I haven’t already answered in my previous replies.
The first link in your post isn’t working but I believe I answered this in my reply here. You may be looking for an answer with a degree of specificity that doesn’t exist and outside of the general information in the link I included about sleeping temperature that will give you some sense of the variables involved that can affect sleeping temperature with a particular mattress … the only way to know exactly how cool or hot any mattress will sleep for you compared to another mattress will be based on your actual sleeping experience.

Seems to list all the specs for the their foam but the low star reviews are all from 1 year owners claiming that impressions are forming.

It seems to me that all foam mattresses are great for a year or so and then turn south; most reviews do not disclose the weight of the reviewer so that could be another factor in the purchase price.
So far I’ve come to the conclusion that pocketed springs are great for me along with some sort of cool type material (latex?) would be beneficial. Most of these would be a hybrid but hybrid could be a mix of latex or dreamfoam.

They also talked about anything that is vacuum packed to become an issue later on down the road; some recent DreamFoam buyers had been talking about their mattresses not inflating all the well as well. So is dreamfoam stock piling at this point and then dropshipping?

I’m not sure where you are reading about all their specs because their description is missing most of the specs for the foam layers including the mygel memory foam, the 3" of “pressure relief” foam, and the base foam but they do mention that the middle layer is 3 lb memory foam which in combination with the other missing layer specs (which are also likely to be in a lower density range) would be enough to make me very cautious about this mattress and I would avoid it unless the only lower quality/density layer was the 1.5" of 3 lb memory foam.
I would be very cautious about using reviews as a meaningful source of information but you can read more detailed comments about this (which would also apply to any similar mattress) in post #2 here.

This would depend entirely on the specifics of the mattress and the type and quality/density of the “foam” (latex and memory foam and polyfoam are all “foam”). Again … I would be very cautious about using mattress reviews (either positive or negative) as a particularly meaningful source of information and research (see post #13 here).
Their mattresses that are stocked and fulfilled by Amazon may be compressed and stored for longer than the mattresses they fulfill themselves but either way it’s not likely to be long enough to be an issue with the durability of the materials.

Went to a local independent store in Warrenton called Mattress Authority http://www.mattressauthoritywarrenton.com/
To look at their setup specifically their Body Tech Mattress lineup.
Mattresses felt good but were cheap (cheaper than I think they should be).
Owner wasn’t in and the saleperson on duty didn’t know the exact specs of the foam layers and told me to call back tomorrow once the owner is back in.
All the Body Tech Mattresses are made by Mattress Tech of NC in Thomasville NC. Have you ever heard of them?

Salesguy mentioned that they sell more Body Tech Mattresses than anything else and that he has one for his son. Forgot to ask him what he is sleeping on.

Unfortunately (as you mentioned) none of the information you listed says about the quality of the layers and components inside the mattress and without this information it’s not possible to make any meaningful comments about the quality of the materials in any mattress or make meaningful comparisons to other mattresses. It would be safe to assume though that the polyfoam is on the lower end of the quality/density range.
Mattress Tech Enterprises isn’t the same manufacturer as Carolina Mattress Guild (which went bankrupt in Dec, 2014 and closed their business) although they are/were both based in Thomasville, NC. Mattress Tech has a very limited website and there is a list of their trademarks here that they make for various retailers including Mattress Warehouse/Sleephappens (Timeless Bedding and Cheswick Manor), Mattress Authority (Timeless Bedding), and Boscovs (Euro Tex). None of them provide any meaningful information about the quality/density of the materials in their mattresses.
As you probably know … I would strongly suggest avoiding the Simmons (unless you can confirm the quality of the materials in their mattresses) because of the low quality foam that they use in their comfort layers. I have seen some airfeel foam lower than 1 lb density and some aircool memory foam as low as 2 lb density (which are both very low quality/density materials).

called the owner earlier today and he confirmed that the CMG is not the manufacturer. Looked up both and they are 3 miles apart all in the same area which is the furniture assembly village it seems.
Going back to the store and asking them about the specifics on the warranty and exchange procedure (if needed).
Will also try to call the manufacturer tomorrow and see what they say.
Update: we went back to the independent store in Warrenton and purchased the BodyTech Dover Firm mattress. It’s a traditional coil spring with a cooling gel layer up top. Order to delivery had taken a week. Price was just slightly above IKEA heggedal and the mattress felt better and had a better “warranty”.
Still waiting for the log bed sadly so it’s setup like this for now:

Sadly not. No specs so I’m sure it’s a cheapo mattress. There will be a review in the near future to see how it’s wearing.

A review that is sooner than a few years won’t say much about the durability of the materials in the mattress or the mattress as a whole (unless it’s exceptionally low quality) but if you are sleeping well and “symptom free” after the break in and adjustment period then it would at least confirm that you made a suitable choice in terms of PPP.
I’m looking forward to any feedback you have the chance to share although I normally wouldn’t suggest that anyone purchase a mattress without confirming the quality of the materials inside it.

One thIng that I have learned during this mattress buying experience is to try to identify the materials used. However most manufacturers are guarding their materials a secret for most parts it seems. So while it might make absolute sense to get that information it is nearly never available.

Unfortunately that’s certainly true with the larger manufacturers that dominate the industry. The worst part is that perhaps not surprisingly … the manufacturers that keep the quality of their materials a secret and tend to seel their mattresses based on “stories” also tend to use the lowest quality materials.
