My Wife and I are moving into our new house here in a few months following renovation completion and one item on our to do list is buy a new bed. Right now we’re sleeping on a king mattress from some online bed-in-a-box company (can’t recall the name) that I bought 8 years ago. It’s semi-firm and while neither of us are waking with pain or anything it definitely leaves something to be desired.
She sleeps cooler than me and prefers a slightly softer bed while I prefer more firm and I tend to have a fluctuating temperature when sleeping.
This divide is pushing us towards something like a sleep number because of the customization and with their current sales they are running my Wife wants to pull the trigger on one.
Looking for some more guidance. Trying to use the buying tutorial but honestly am overwhelmed and may just need my hand held a bit more.
Any help would be appreciated!
Id skip Sleep Number due to hammocking. Air Pedic has 3 air chambers so the hammocking is reduced.

Hey ajever01.
Welcome to our Mattress Forum
A split configuration sounds like the right move for you guys. If you like the idea of a Sleep Number, let me point you to Personal Comfort (@PersonalComfort) - their mattresses are better quality, their ownership is transparent, and overall you really just get more for your money. They also offer a side-by-side comparison on their site of their product with Sleep Number.
Is a side by side adjustable mattress 100% what you’re after? Or is a split-in-the-same-mattress something you’re also looking into?

Hey Nikki, thanks! I don’t think we really know one way or another what we’re looking at. I feel I have mostly been looking at split in the same mattresses but don’t see why we wouldn’t be open to a side by side if it achieves what we’re looking for as well.
