Posh and Lavish

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some opinions on my situation.

I am 6’ 2" 240 pounds side sleeper.

I had been sleeping in a Tempurpedic Medium Firm Twin XL the last few years, it’s never been perfect, but generally fine.

I decided to upgrade and get something bigger and more comfortable.

I ended up getting a Posh and Lavish all latex queen sized.

The problem is I can not sleep comfortably on this thing at all. It causes me horrible hip pain and leg numbness and just generally feels like hell to lie on.

I keep changing the layers and nothing seems to help.

Started with firm comfort layers over super firm base.

Then changed it out for medium over firm over super firm.

Then Medium/medium over super firm.

Then Medium/medium over firm base.

Now I’m doing ultra plush/plush over firm base. This has been the worst so far, like a torture device.

So for now I am stuck with this expensive mattress and I don’t know what to do.

I am sleeping on my old Tempurpedic.

Where did I go wrong? I was told latex was good for side sleepers but even the 200 dollar box mattress I got my son at Costco feels leagues about the Posh and Lavish in comfort.

Is there any way to get this mattress to be okay for me or am I stuck with a dud mattress?

I am not someone who has chronic pain normally but this mattress was messing my body up really bad.

Any advice will be appreciated, if I left out any helpful details just let me know.

I like Posh+Lavish mattress

I am sorry to hear about your discomfort. Posh and Lavish does make a good quality mattress, but the simple truth is that good quality memory foam is more pressure relieving, but it does need to be layered correctly for it to work. The fortunate part is that there is a good chance that you can add some high quality memory foam to the surface of mattress and achieve what you are looking for, but I would need to get more in-depth with you and your situation to decide what might work, but feel free to visit our www.Tempflow.com website and reach out to myself via email or call us at 800-667-1969 and I am happy to get this figured out for you.

I was sold on the posh and lavish. I tried other hybrid or boxspring types but the P&L felt amazing in the store. The soft topper material was like a cloud. But that all goes away after you put on sheets or a mattress topper. we bought expensive sheets to try and make it feel better but no luck. I sleep hot and this doesn’t help. We tried their 2” and 3” toppers but it’s not comfortable. Maybe it’s to plush for arthritis? I have terrible low back pain and the thick foam makes my arthritis even worse. I get neuropathy and my hands and legs from this thing. I literally hate this $3000 bed!!! I wish there was something I could do maybe take off the topper and use foam like somebody mentioned above? I took both toppers off, and it was so uncomfortable by itself.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but I may have a solution if you can’t return the mattress. When I created the Back Science mattress with that specially designed Lumbar-Flex zoning to properly support your back, I also wanted to create a way that someone could further refine the lumbar support and did so with the BackFlex3 adjustable bed that is a part of the Back Science bed system, but can work with any flexible mattress. If you were to add that to your Posh and Lavish mattress, you could improve the support tremendously, without having to use toppers that will only create more heat build-up and not solve the problem anyway. In addition to the amazing adjustable lumbar support, you can also use the Zero Gravity mode I more specifically refined for the BackFlex3 and it even has the first ever patent pending back stretching program which has proven to be very effective for reducing tension and stretching the paraspinal musculature. You can click here to see the Back Science BackFlex3 adjustable bed.

If you have any questions, feel free to respond to the forum or give us a direct call and/or email us once you are on the Back Science bed website. If you do purchase, be sure to use the 10% off code we give to The Mattress Underground members: TMU10.
