Question about Naturally Nestled Latex Toppers

Hi, I am looking to do a DYI mattress with S/M/F layers. For the comfort layer I am looking to go with Brooklyn Bedding Talalay 3" but for the intermediate and base layer I am thinking to go with Dunlop toppers. I was initially planning to go with Latex Mattress Factory Medium (28 ILD) and Firm (38 ILD) but then I found Naturally Nestled website and it looks like they sell Natural latex at much lower price and they have return policy. However their medium is rated at 26 ILD and firm at 34 ILD. I have few questions about Naturally Nestled and hoping someone can chime in.

  1. Is their topper Dunlop or Talalay based?
  2. Since their ILD’s for medium and firm is different than LMF will it have a significant effect on how the mattress will feel?
  3. Has anyone used their product? Any feedback?
    Thanks

Hello!
I have used their products and can provide some feedback:
Latex is Dunlop.
Based on my limited experience, their ILD of 26 for medium and 34 for the firm seem a tad low. That and ILD values can only be compared when the latex is made by the same manufacturer. ILD are also ranges. For Dunlop, it is often better to look at densities. Their density values are 75 kg per cubic meter for medium and 85 for firm, which are comparable to offerings by many other companies.
Other than getting a defective piece (which happens to products from every company from time to time) that was promptly refunded, I have no issues with the quality. The quality is actually excellent, and I love the cotton sheeting that comes with it. Their organic latex is made by the excellent Latex Green in Sri Lanka. Their non-organic latex doesn’t have a manufacturer specified but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was also made by Latex Green.

Hello,
I just returned a Naturally Nestled topper in Twin 3" Firm. My plan was to use it as a sleep pad on a wooden slat platform bed. It was a STRANGE! feeling lying on this thing, yet it supported every part of me from head to toe and I did not feel the hard wooden slats below. I’m 5"7, 200lbs. It felt very much like a balloon pushing on you no matter what direction you moved, unlike the sinking feeling from memory foam. It was quite heavy considering it was a Twin size and difficult to move by myself. It does have a smell that dissipated after a few days. It is a high quality product, but I ultimately returned it because I was unable to fall asleep on it, or get my body to relax while on it. I purchased from Amazon, so I got a quick refund, but it was quite the struggle getting it back in the box. I had to buy a large plastic bag to put it in then used my shop vac to suck out the air so it would compress, then slid it into the box.
