Pads like this can help with “wear and tear” between the bottom non-skid materials on the underside of a mattress and the top surface of a foundation. Some foundations are less finished than others, so a wool pad (or other substantial fabric of your choosing) can be beneficial in this area. I don’t recall anyone mentioning this specific product, but it comes up once in a while on the forum that people will place some sort of a dense fabric between their foundation and their mattress.
