Hi everyone. I’m new to the group! Please forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere – I did my best to search posts but still have questions.
I have a bit of a unique situation in that I am mostly bedridden from a chronic illness. Only exception is to use the bathroom and, on “good days,” spend a brief time in another bed in another room for a different view (the couch is not accessible to me). I try to spend most of the day on one side of the bed, and sleep on the other to prevent sagging. However, after about 8 years with the same mattress, it is sagging quite substantially and I need a new one. Shopping for mattresses online is difficult.
I am not sure what mattress I have now as I’d love to just get the same one again. There are no tags on it according to my caretaker, and the receipt I have (from Sleep America, now out of business) only says “Serenity Plush.” There’s no manufacturer name on it. It is an inner/pocketed coil spring Eurotop or pillowtop. If anyone has any ideas on the manufacturer, I’d love to know!
Anyway, I’m considering the Saatva Classic but am concerned about reviews I’ve read on external sites (such as GoodBed.com) that complain about sagging. Has anyone had experience with the Saatva and any sagging issues? And does anyone have advice on what mattress might be best for me?
My requirements are that it must not be memory foam (I fear getting “stuck” and not being able to move around in bed’), it has to be adjustable base compatible, and it should be no more than about 12" tall (13" is the absolute limit) or I can’t get back into bed from my wheelchair.
Thanks so much for any input.
