Questions about using a cheap mattress as a base for latex topper

Hi,

I am 5ft 5inches currently 217lbs. Mostly back sleeper, sometimes side and have been looking for a firm mattress on a tight budget. Which brings me to ask about Sunrisingbedding’s 8inch “latex" hybrid. I don’t care about the one inch of latex, its the coils. Its one inch of latex over a (7ish inch) base of tempered recycled steel pocket coils wrapped in a non-woven fabric. 682 in the full with 2 rows of 2.2mm around the edges and 2.0mm in the middle. The cover is some kind of wool, mostly polyester blend quilted. My question is, would this mattress be firm enough for my size? I would be buying a latex topper at least 2 inches. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Im not sure. Can you try it?

Sort of doesnt make sense when you can go with Sleep EZ or APM. And Flobeds. They are latex experts plus they have a return policy.

I like the BackScience2 myself,

John

Unfortunately, no. Beginning to think its not worth the risk. Too many positive reviews out there for them to be real and a couple on Amazon about it sagging after a few months to a year. Have to get a new frame and foundation too. Trying very hard to keep the total from going over a grand.
