Quick question about specs .....

Hi Phoenix,

After some reflection, I decided to get the CP Rogers Estate 5000 innerspring and top it with a natural Latex topper, so that I have the flexibility of changing the top if I need to later. The 5000 specs are identical with the 9000 with the exception of the extra top soft latex 1" layer, which is not available at this stage, as it’s a lesser model.
The question I have though is, since I got the complete specs for the mattress, is there a possibility that they are not exactly what they say they are? I don’t mean only them, but any other manufacturer. Can anyone claim specs they don’t have or there is some law that obligates them to be truthful?
Just concerned, because everyone seems to just be after profit and not care about the consumer who pays a lot of good money for not-so-good merchandise.
Please let me know, your thoughts would be appreciated.

Many thanks!

Hi Cloud99,

While this would certainly be possible “in theory” … outside of a rare mistake in manufacturing it would be very unlikely that this would happen if you are dealing with a reliable manufacturer.

There are consumer protection laws about making false claims that are regulated by the FTC (including claims for “green” materials or VOC’s for example) but these are somewhat non specific and are generally only enforced if there is a clear violation of their guidelines that would be deceptive and a specific complaint.

I think you made a good quality choice … and congratulations on your new mattress

I’m looking forward to your comments and feedback when you receive it and have had the chance to sleep on it for a bit.

Thank you, I will let you know in a few weeks.
