I have a DIY Mattress with multiple layers equaling to 12". I’m using a stretchable cover to hold the layers together and it isn’t keeping the layers from shifting and provides no support at edges. it also has the zipper under the bed which makes opening it impossible
Does anyone have any recommendations on a good cover to use? hopefully a thick enough material to help support the sides and with a zipper that is on the sides instead of on the bottom. dont mind if its cotton or bamboo.

It can be very frustrating when the various layers shift inside your cover. A zipper on the bottom is also not a great design. The good news is that quite a few of the trusted members of the site carry exactly what you are looking for; Just for example the following all carry 12" mattress covers with 360 degree side zippers that allow for rearranging of layers – like this one atSleepEZ, these covers at DIY Mattress; Also these atDIY Natural Bedding, And also at Latex Mattress Factory. A good cover should snugly fit the layers and also provide some support for the edges.
