Refurbished adjustable beds?

Hi Phoenix!

I just want to say thank you for all your help in advance, I have been searching around for a mattress for 3 weeks now and after some tiredness research I stumbled upon your website and ended up deciding on going with sleepez 100% organic latex split king mattress! :]

However, after dropping 2k on a mattress my budget for an adjustable bed is a little tight. So I ventured off into the Web and found a few outlet and family owned sites that were selling refurbished adjustable beds on average 1000 dollars less than buying new. Now I can always save up for a new one but Im not super fond of the idea of my new mattress on the floor since I have 3 shedding machines I call dogs.

So my question is, do you think it’s safe to buy refurbished, or should I just try and bite the bullet and save up for a new one?

Here is two of the sites of I was looking at;

Thanks again Phoenix, I look forward to hearing back from you!

Hi Mitternacht,

Welcome to the Mattress Forum! :slight_smile:

I’m glad you found us, and congratulations on your new mattress! :cheer: You certainly made a good quality/value choice.

This really comes down to your own personal level of comfort purchasing something that you know already has some damage to it, has been exchanged, or has been repaired. I would be sure that you are completely familiar with what damage any item might have before placing an order, and any warranty that may or may not come with the product. I personally would tend to prefer to see something like this in person before making a decision. The descriptions on the Sears site are general and they don’t have specific photos of any of the cosmetic damages. Electropedic might be more responsive and be able to provide more specifics on what is wrong with anything they are selling (I would just phone them - their web site is difficult to navigate). I personally would have less of a concern about purchasing a power foundation with a cosmetic blemish than a an actual used mattress (Full disclosure – I have purchased items from a Sears Outlet before that have had damage (refrigerator) and I was perfectly happy with that item). Overall, I would still want some sort of a warranty on the product and photos of any cosmetic issues. I would also tend to avoid items that were exchanged from actual in-home use.

Sorry, I was not aware this was not allowed. The post I replied to was about saving money by buying a “refurbished” adjustable bed. I posted a link for a NEW item being the poster thought this was out of her reach financially. I posted a code for an additional discount off the item. I am NOT affiliated with Amazon, Wayfair or the adjustable bed MFR. Was not aware saving money was against the “rules.”

Hi kon,

Of course saving money isn’t against the rules of this forum, and the information provided here helps consumers to become educated about mattresses and their componentry and hopefully make a wise use of their money should they choose to make a purchase.

And while I thank you for posting here, linking to a specific brand of item that anyone could find with a general online search on consumer shopping sites (and could have found other similar items that were less expensive than what you linked to), along with a coupon I’ve seen posted elsewhere, turns the site into a competitive advertising space, which I consider promotional.
