Retailer recommendations in the Pittsburgh PA area ?

Hi !

I’m new to the site and am very confused about what bed to buy. I am one of those people who research things to death, and so far buying a matress is proving more complex than my new flat screen tv. LOL

Our matress is a queen Serta and is 9 years old and I and my wife had pretty much hated it since we bought it.
After doing some sneaking around here, I see not to buy a major brand again.

The Original Matress Factory is about the only independent manufacturer that I know of in our area.

Has anyone bought one of these ? How do you like it ?

I am looking to for more independent companies. Anyone know of any ?

Hi Dudewayne,

OMF is a larger factory direct manufacturer that is very open about the materials they use in ther mattresses and makes high quality and value mattresses. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them if they carry a mattress that is suitable for your PPP (Pressure relief, Posture and alignment, and your Preferences). For what it’s worth … a consumer survey done in October 2009 rated them higher than all the major manufacturers (smaller local manufacturers weren’t included in the survey).
