Looking for a super-soft, non-bed in a box, non-lumbar/ zoned, all foam mattress. Tried soooooo many. Big name, $$$$, several biab, hybrid etc… they are all terrible. Tried 4 tempurpedics.
Hi Jeff1971,
I would recommend reaching out to @BackScience / @Tempflow. Dr. Rick should be able to help design a mattress that fits both your comfort preferences and support needs.
One thing you didn’t mention is whether you prefer memory foam, polyfoam, or latex. If latex is an option you’re considering, that opens the door to several additional high-quality choices.
It also helps to share your age, height, weight, primary sleep position, and what mattresses or materials you’ve tried in the past, both what has worked well and what hasn’t. You provided a good amount of detail, but those additional factors can make a significant difference when narrowing down the best fit.
If latex is on your shortlist, I’d also suggest speaking with @EuropeanSleep, @EuropeanSleepDesign, @PlankAndCoil, @OrganicBedroom, and @TheCleanBedroom. They all have extensive experience helping people with situations similar to yours.
Sometimes finding the right mattress isn’t just about choosing the right product, it’s also about working with knowledgeable people who can guide you through the process. All of these trusted members are among the best in the industry and can provide excellent guidance.
All the best,
Maverick
Yeah, no latex or air mattresses. It feels like youre sleeping on a bouncy ball. Want to eliminate any pushback. Wife has a l5/s1 rupture.
Hello Jeff1971,
Maverick had some considerations and I would like to offer you my 25 years of experience as both a mattress designer and a Doctor of Chiropractic who has specifically worked to create technology that objectively assesses spinal alignment.
First, it’s important that I add the disclaimer that while I am not your wife’s personal physician and therefore cannot offer medical advice, and specifically do recommend that she see her personal health practitioner to evaluate her situation, That said, in order to meet both of your needs, it is important to note that latex has caused issues and it is likely due to do the characteristic “buoyant pushback” into what is obviously a more tender region, thanks to the L5/S1 disc rupture..
To eliminate that upward pushback, you need a high-density, slow-melting type material that absorbs the body’s pressure points completely rather than fighting against them. While you mentioned wanting to avoid zoning, the trick for an L5/S1 injury is ensuring that the hips are allowed to sink just enough to alleviate acute pressure, while still utilizing a heavy-duty sub-support layer underneath to prevent the deep sagging that causes a painful hammock effect.
Through our Tempflow line, we can absolutely build a specialized, non-zoned, all-foam mattress using our proprietary 5lb Biogreen® memory foam. This material is designed to replicate the ultra-dense, completely dead-melt feel of the classic, early-2000s memory foam formulas. It entirely eliminates upward pushback—giving you that “super-soft” pressure relief you are looking for—while utilizing a clean, GreenGuard Gold certified formulation that does not have the toxic off-gassing or heat-trapping issues of traditional foams.
Furthermore, we do not ship these as compressed beds-in-a-box that sit degraded in a warehouse. They are built to order and shipped full-size via freight to protect the structural integrity of the high-density layers.
While most customers find their mattress to be perfect from the get-go, should you find that the mattress needs to be adjusted to perfectly accommodate your wife’s comfort, we offer free customizations at no cost whatsoever. Thanks to our GripLock modular cover system, we can easily exchange internal components to change the level of firmness and support right from your own home until it is absolutely dialed in.
I would want to have a conversation before I recommended which Tempflow and/or we may need to customize a specific version right from the get go, You can reach out to myself or my staff at the www.Tempflow.com website and feel free to email or give us a call at 800-667-1969, so we can discuss which option would be best for your situation.
Thanks!
